Rebecca Branch brings a breath of fresh air to the genre of erotic-romance with her well-researched novel. Written with care and meticulous attention to detail, she takes the reader on a wonderful journey of enlightenment, showing us the diverse cultural beauty of Italy. Meanwhile, her life-affirming tale of kindred spirits, sexual awakening and the bond formed between two souls makes for a wonderful read.
Rebecca's passion for her subject comes across clearly in her writing. We cannot but share her joy as she explores the growing relationship between Max and Molly.
Her novel almost defies its genre, since it encapsulates so much more than erotica, or romance. For those seeking not only a love story but to escape to Italy's piazzas, to tour its galleries, and to discover its ancient history, look no further.

Summer of '71 A Romance of Youth in Timeless Rome Art Historian Super Heroes Book 1 edition by Rebecca Branch Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The author presumes all men are sex crazy. When every women knows quite different and contrary factual tendencies. A poorly written book.
I read hold my first Rebecca Branch book "The Summer of 71" and I can't wait to read her next book that I pick. Her writing is the best romance/erotic work I have read in years. Did it hold my interest? Not since 50 Shades of grey have I enjoyed a story so much. What is special about her books is her knowledge of history that pulls you into special places and people in history. She understands love, sex and I'm in love with her from a distance. If your looking for a great story, complex people, romance and erotic love, read Rebecca Branch. I call her style EROTICMANCE
Having just read "The Summer of 71", I found the book to be an amazing journey as Rebecca Branch took the reader on an exotic tour through Rome as seen through the eyes of Molly and Max. The art, the history, and the beauty of Rome comes to life as two strangers meet by chance, become lovers, and fall deeply in love. The beauty of the story is a literal work of art that embraces the senses with delight. This story captures and holds the readers attention from start to finish. It is an unforgettable journey that I will cherish forever. The writing was in rare form, and the story was not only an absolute thrill of uncommon adventure it was story telling at its best. In short, I loved the book and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic adventure . Rebecca is truly an outstanding writer who brilliantly brings to life the history, art, and archatecture of Rome. It was a wonderful experience that will be fondly remembered.
This review is given by the "H" in H&M Jacobs and is given from a man's perspective. Stumbling onto this book was done by accident for me. My wife first pointed out the authors Facebook page and I was so impressed with the effort put out to promote her books that I purchased it just for support. What I did not expect was that I would be swept away in a book unlike any other I have read. I immediately connected with the main characters. One of the most enjoyable aspects for me was that the author got "Max" so right. The thoughts that go through this young man's head reminded me of myself at that age so much that I actually had to stop and wonder in amazement that the author could get him so right. "Molly" is a dream. She is "The most beautiful woman in the world". She is also intelligent, graceful, and fun. She is the woman that every intelligent young man daydreams about. I do not want to give a synopses of the story line. Others can do that. What I want to say is that this book helped me to relive my youth. To fall in love again. It left me in love with Rome and with Molly and Max. It was the best three bucks I've ever spent. Buy it and read it.
I just finished reading Summer of 71 and want to give you my impressions of this fascinating, intriguing, engaging, soulful and ultimately hopeful story about two of the most interesting people you are likely to encounter on the printed page.
First there is Molly, 26, late of the United Kingdom, a model/actress in Italy for a photo shoot in Milan. After a bad experience in Milan, she escapes to Rome where she meets Max, an Italian American, 16, a young intelligent man wise beyond his years. In each they find a kindred spirit both outwardly confident, inwardly not that self assured, both searching for answers in life. They establish a friendship though both are somewhat wary. Molly has been disappointed by too many men and Max is just starting out in his pursuit of romance and lacks confidence in his approach to Molly. Ms. Branch next takes us on a breathtaking trip through Rome with Molly and Max and slowly the barriers begin to come down between them. The depth and breadth of Ms. Branch's knowledge and understanding of architecture, sculpture, paintings, music, ancient empires English history, Roman history and modern Italian history is astonishing. This story is as much of a travelogue and history lecture and lesson interspersed just at the right time with a moving love story. The patient reader will be rewarded with one of the great consummation scenes they are ever likely to read. This is definitely an adult story not for the faint of heart. Make sure the kids are away when you read this.
Ms. Branch gives us a sense of that era in 1971. The fashions, music, the burgeoning sexual revolution and the drug scene. Molly and Max are all very much a part of it. There's a hilarious scene at the Trevi Fountain and a harrowing scene driving through the streets of Rome that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Ms. Branch has put much into her story and yet it is not cluttered or weighed down. Nothing superfluous, everything just in the right place. There is even a story of Caesar's Rome within the context of the main story line which dovetails nicely into the overall narrative.
Another remarkable aspect of Summer of 71 is how Ms. Branch deals with our five senses. SIGHT We see Rome through the eyes of Molly and Max. The way they look at each other and then describe each other in the most loving terms. HEARING Max plays the guitar for Molly and she is wrapped up in his singing. The waves of the sea crashing along the Italian shore. The sound of traffic along the Roman streets. The roar of a sports car travelling the Italian coast. The whirl of helicopter blades rotating overhead. SMELL Molly rubs on a very fragrant hand lotion and wears a marvelous perfume. The coffee brewing in the morning. A freshly opened bottle of wine before being poured. The simple yet magnificent food of Italy. TASTE Having an extravagant and spectacular meal at the Cafe de Paris. The drinking and savoring of a fine wine. The marvelous and fresh produce from the nearby farms. Enjoying and sharing an ice cream with one another. TOUCH The feel of a new dress as it slides down Molly's body. The fit of some very tight pants for Max. The dressing up for role playing they engage in as foreplay. The feel of water and oil against their skin. The holding of some precious artifact from ancient Rome. The feel of the streets, both modern and ancient as they walk through the eternal
city. Then Ms. Branch after giving each of our individuals senses their due, she then brings all five together in Molly's and Max's lovemaking. Describing in wonderful detail the art, and not the science, of making love. This story is never just about sex.
In the end Summer of 71 is both a guide and a love letter. A guide for the younger generation into relationships. For falling in love for the first time as Molly and Max have done. In striving to have a meaningful connection with another person. For those of us a little bit older, it is a love letter. Somewhat frayed along the edges but which bring s back pleasant memories of the past. But always very hopeful. That there is still much in the future that we can savor and enjoy until we leave this earth. Summer of 71 is a universal story, no matter who you are or where you come from. Molly and Max are us. We are them. Summer of 71 is a very human story written by a very gifted author whose next book I look forward to with great anticipation. Thank you Rebecca Branch.
